<p>In a study attempting to prove the therapeutic value of carrots researchers at the Wolfson Gastrointestinal Laboratory in Edinburgh, Scotland showed that cholesterol level reduces  by 11 percent if seven ounces of raw carrots a day is consumed for three weeks. </p>
<p>A study conducted at the Mario Negri Institute of Pharmacological Research in Italy found subjects that ate more carrots had one third the risk of heart attack as compared with those who ate fewer carrots.</p>
<p>British researchers discovered that increasing beta-carotene consumption from 1.7 to 2.7 milligrams a day reduced lung cancer risk more than 40 percent. The average carrot contains about three milligrams of Beta-carotene. In another cancer related study, researchers found that eating carrots reduced the risk of colon cancer by as much as 24 percent. </p>
<p>Researches found that people who ate the most Beta-carotene had a forty percent lower risk of macular degeneration compared with those who consumed the least.</p>

<p><strong>Keep Covered</strong></p>
<p>Minimize your exposure to strong sun. You probably know the sun is strongest during 10 am and 2 pm. If you can avoid being out in the sun during those times, it is like taking a magic anti-aging pill. Stay out of tanning booths at all times. If you are out in the sun make sure you use sunscreen. You will keep your skin smooth and reduce your chance of getting skin cancer. Also wear a hat. So many people forget to do this. Wearing a wide  brimmed hat will keep you cooler and protect the delicate skin on your face. If you color your hair, it will also prevent your color from fading.</p>
<p><strong>Moisturize at Any Price</strong></p>
<p>One AOL Health respondent said &#8220;Another friend said this is what works for him: &#8220;Slather on moisturizer twice a day. It doesn&#8217;t matter how expensive or cheap the moisturizer is, as long as it is slathered on. If you have money for a more expensive one, good, but any will do.&#8221; I can speak from personal experience and tell you that does work. My skin is still very soft even though I am older because I have always used moisturizer. I put mine on right after I step out of the shower so the water gets locked in my skin.</p>

<p>Combine all ingredients in a lidded jar and shake well to mix. Rub into skin thoroughly, and then rinse with tepid water.</p>
<p><strong>Recipe for Cucumber Cleanser with Milk:</strong></p>
<p>Peel half a cucumber and blend it in the food processor until you have a smooth liquid, then put this through a sieve. </p>
<p>Combine with 250 ml whole milk and blend well.</p>
<p>This will keep well in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.</p>

<p><strong>Use your ring and middle fingers</strong> (these apply the least pressure):</p>
<p><strong>Forehead </strong>- Rake your fingertips in upward strokes toward the hairline.</p>
<p><strong>Cheeks </strong>- In three separate strokes gently swipe from the sides of your mouth out towards below your ears, then from the sides of your nose out to the middle of your ears and then sweep below the eyes out towards your temples.</p>
