How To Look 10 Years Younger

There is huge line of products out there promising to make us look younger. But you know there are so many natural ways to slow the aging process and most of them are very inexpensive. AOL Health did a great post on home remedies for anti-aging. They asked their readers for their own home grown remedies and here are some of their tips:

Stress Less

Stress can cause us to tense our facial muscles which causes wrinkles and can be hard on our entire body. Our bodies are not designed to be in the “fight” mode all the time. Learning how to get rid of those stressful feelings can go along way toward keeping your body young not to mention lower your blood pressure. Many people say meditation is the best way to de-stress but you can also do breathing exercises, take a relaxing bath, listen to soothing music, do yoga, or exercise. Just pick one that works for you and you will feel so much better and look younger too.

Benefits of Sea Salt

Sea Salts for Skin

Sea salt is really great for your skin and very inexpensive for your pocketbook. Here are some great natural remedies using sea salt from Pamela Allerdice writing in her book Natural Remedies A-Z

For dry cracked skin – First, to soften skin, pour 1 cup of sea salt onto a small area in an empty bathtub. Wet it slightly. Sit on the ege of the tub and work your feet back and forth in the salt mixture. Then with your hands, massage the sea salt into your feet, making sure to get all the dry rough area – sides and tops too. Rinse with cool water and dry briskly with a towel, rubbing off the old dry skin.

Tired feet – Prepare two foot baths, one containing hot water to which 1 cup of sea salt has been added, the other with cold water containing an infusion of rosemary(put a few drops of rosemary essential oil in water or boil water and add fresh rosemary, after five minutes add to cold water footbath). Put feet in the hot water for 5 minutes, then in the cold for 1 minute, back to the hot for 5, back to the cold for 1 minute, and so on. The minerals in the sea salt help to revive and thoroughly clean the skin.

Rinse off and tone and moisturize as usual.

Take an extra 300 mg of niacin and 500 mg of vitamin C twice a day

Cucumber Facts and Cures

Cucumber Recipes for Natural Skin Care

Cucumbers are usually cheap and readily available. They have an amazing number of uses for natural cures. According to Pamela Allardice writing in her book Natural Remedies A-Z cucumber’s ability to eliminate water from the body makes it very important for those with heart and kidney problems. It also helps dissolve uric acid accumulations such as kidney and bladder stones. Constipation is helped greatly by cucumber salad. The best cucumbers to use are those fully ripe, when starting to turn yellow.

For skin and cosmetic uses, cucumber juice can be applied to the skin as a toning, refreshing lotion, or blended into a cream; it is excellent as an inclusion in any ointment or lotion used for treating burns, chafing or dry or flaking skin.

Recipe for Cucumber Juice:

Wash the cucumbers thoroughly and then cut them, with the skin on, into small pieces.

Put the pieces in an earthen ware or porcelain dish.

Pour enough hot water over them to cover, put over a low heat and let simmer for half an hour or more. Be careful not to burn them.

Strain the mixture through a colander.
