O.K. Nobody likes a Urinary Tract or Bladder infection, and women are most prone to them. However you can take some simple steps to reduce the frequency and severity of UTI. If you do experience symptoms of a urinary tract infection, you should seek medical advice.

1. Take care after a bowel movement to wipe front to back. Stool can cary bacteria, and you want to make sure it doesn’t get into the urinary tract. On that same vein, you may want to take showers more often than baths. In Japan, they often shower before a bath. If you can’t give you your bath, this may a good idea!

2. Take care to clean your genital area before and after intercourse. On that same vein, you may need to change positions to make sure you aren’t irritating your urethra. Make sure your partner is clean too!
3. Wear cotton panties. Some fabrics trap moisture which can be a breeding ground for bacteria. Forego feminine sprays and douches if you suffer from frequent UTI as well.

4. Diet – Some studies show that adequate vitamin C intake helps your body fight off infections. ..and of course, there’s always the cranberry juice.

5. Drink Lots Of Water!

However, if you are experienced the weird itchy feeling that lets you know you may have a urinary tract infection, and especially if you experience any pain while urinating, head down to the doctor’s office!
