Cucumbers are usually cheap and readily available. They have an amazing number of uses for natural cures. According to Pamela Allardice writing in her book Natural Remedies A-Z cucumber’s ability to eliminate water from the body makes it very important for those with heart and kidney problems. It also helps dissolve uric acid accumulations such as kidney and bladder stones. Constipation is helped greatly by cucumber salad. The best cucumbers to use are those fully ripe, when starting to turn yellow.
For skin and cosmetic uses, cucumber juice can be applied to the skin as a toning, refreshing lotion, or blended into a cream; it is excellent as an inclusion in any ointment or lotion used for treating burns, chafing or dry or flaking skin.
Recipe for Cucumber Juice:
Wash the cucumbers thoroughly and then cut them, with the skin on, into small pieces.
Put the pieces in an earthen ware or porcelain dish.
Pour enough hot water over them to cover, put over a low heat and let simmer for half an hour or more. Be careful not to burn them.

The latest research suggests to lose weight you need to eat “good” fat. What is “good” fat? Docosahexaenoic acid or DHA is short is the fat found in fish-oil capsules and in salmon, trout, herring and mackerel. Good for protecting hearts against irregular beats, lowering depression risk, cooling inflammation and helping babies grow healthy brains, DHA has been show recently to boost fat-burning, discourage excess padding inside the abdomen and promote weight loss.
In one study, overweight men who took daily fish-oil capsules or ate fish three times a week lost 2.2 more pounds more in four weeks than those who didn’t. Also, in another study, in which fish or sunflower oil was added to a regular diet triglycerides fell 14 percent and HDL (good cholesterol) rose 10 percent.
Taking drug store brand fish oil capsules or DHA capsules will give the same benefit.

Know the Rules for People with Inflammatory Bowel Disease – Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is a serious, chronic condition. IBD means one or more parts of your small or large intestine is inflamed. When inflammation and/or ulceration is confined to the inner lining of the colon (colitis) and rectum (proctitis), you have ulcerative colitis. When the inflammation goes beyond the lining into the actual walls of the intestine, you have Crohn’s disease, which usually attacks a part of the GI tract above the Colon. Chron’s can also attack the colon and/or other parts of the gastrointestinal tract. If you have ulcerative colitis the risk of colon cancer is 32 times higher.
